Far Cry 5 No Continue After Ending
Ubisoft broke the mold with the release of Far Cry 5, which has since become the biggest entry in the series in terms of scale and content. The fictional setting of Hope Creek, Montana pits players against the elements, as well as the fanatical followers of antagonist Joseph Seed.
When the game finally ends, it's luckily only the beginning of what Far Cry 5 has to offer. From blowing up outposts to fighting aliens on Mars, these are some things to do after beating the main campaign.
Updated on August 26th, 2021 by Ritwik Mitra: Far Cry 5 is easily one of the best titles in the series and a fine feather in Ubisoft's cap. The game features everything from an engaging story to pulse-pounding combat encounters that were a joy to play through. So, it's only a given that players will blast through the game and inevitably find themselves facing a dearth of Far Cry content. However, Far Cry 5 doesn't need to be abandoned after the story is finished — if anything, there are many things that you can still accomplish that'll help you easily squeeze out more hours from the overall experience.
15/15 Use Cheats
After the main game is done, you don't really have an incentive to play by the rules anymore. So, there's no real reason to not use cheats to spice up the experience.
From God Mode to Infinite Ammunition — there are several classic cheats that you can use in Far Cry 5. It might be a minor way to improve the overall experience, but it's still a welcome one regardless.
14/15 Download Mods
If you want to freshen up your experience with Far Cry 5 in a meaningful manner, mods are the way to go. These fan-made modifications change the game in various ways and allow you to enjoy it with a fresh coat of paint.
From gameplay modifiers to graphical upgrades, there are several ways to improve the overall Far Cry 5 experience. Just keep in mind that not all mods would be your cup of tea, so choose wisely.
13/15 Get More Trophies And Achievements
Anyone who loves getting as many achievements as possible will have a field day with Far Cry 5. There are several achievements that can be obtained in the game which can easily take quite some time after finishing the story.
From performing specific actions to collecting various oddities — the number of trophies in Far Cry 5 is quite immense. Trying to get all of these achievements can be quite a task, but players who relish a lengthy challenge won't have any complaints.
12/15 Fish To Your Heart's Content
With all the rivers and lakes present in Hope County, it was only a given that Ubisoft would include fishing in some capacity. So, it shouldn't be a surprise that there's no shortage of aquatic creatures that can be hunted down with your trusty fishing rod in Far Cry 5.
It can take quite some time to hunt down all the types of fish in the game, given that you need to seek them out in different locations all over the map. It's a great distraction in Far Cry 5 and can be a decent way to spend some time after the story is finished.
11/15 Partake In Hunting
Another way to experience the nature of Far Cry 5 is by hunting down animals. This side activity is crucial for those who want to earn a ton of money in the game without putting in too much effort.
It's also a great way to unlock some valuable perk points as well, which is a great help for anyone seeking to max out their character's stats. Hunting down aggressive animals is even more engaging, with even a single misstep leading to an untimely demise.
10/15 Feeling Perky
Chances are you may have already unlocked a good chunk of the perks upon completing the main storyline. But now that the story is over, you'll have more time to explore and discover the remaining perks you weren't able to previously unlock.
Gaining the Leadership perk earns an additional partner to take along missions. The Harvest Master perk will increase earnings from skinning animals and collecting plants. Of course, getting these perks will involve a consistent stream of mayhem, so it's time to look for trouble.
9/15 The Scourge of Eden
During the game, there is plenty of material from the villainous Eden's Gate that you will be tasked to destroy. Doing this during the main game will earn Resistance Points, which are a necessity to progress through the game. When the game is over, the points are useless, but Eden's Gate still has plenty of property and personnel to destroy.
Seeking and snuffing out any last remnants of Eden's Gate serves as a great way to boost your stats. And wiping Eden's Gate clean off the map brings you one step closer to obtaining the platinum trophy.
8/15 Clearing Outposts
Outposts are the go-to spots to find ammo, consumables, and plenty of baddies to keep you busy. After the game has ended, the outposts are still there and can serve as a consistent challenge. Knocking over outposts provides a safe place to recharge, and even fast travel.
Once all 20 outposts have been conquered, it will unlock the game's "Outpost Master" feature. This allows for each of the outposts to be reset and conquered once more.
7/15 Be a Bro: Co-Op
Another way to get more out of Far Cry 5 is playing with a friend, helping them advance through the story via co-op play. The good news about Far Cry 5's co-op mode is that the entire campaign can be played this way.
The only potential downside is that only the host player's progress will be saved - a point that is void once the campaign is completed.
6/15 Prepper Stashes
If exploring the environment and getting that hard-to-reach item is more intriguing than gunfights, seeking out prepper stashes across the map provides fetch quests that expand the game's story. The stashes require some tricky navigating and aren't as simple as stumbling upon them.
Opening these stashes yields perk points, ammo, money, and other valuables. Overall, there are 27 of these scattered across the map.
5/15 Clearing Side Missions
Progressing through the main story will inevitably mean certain side missions have been set aside. Side missions expand on the story, offering a chance to get unique gear and introduces some goofy characters, such as Larry, a paranormal specialist whose missions will lead to equipping the Magnopulser, a weapon from another world.
With the main story finished, going through the side missions can be a bit more tolerable due to increased stats and firepower, yet is just as rewarding thanks to a temporary sense of direction and the rewards for following through.
4/15 Live Events
While side missions are part of the game and can be explored at any time, live events come and go on a weekly basis, yielding special rewards. The entire Far Cry 5 community contributes to the weekly objectives, and even if personal contributions are minimal, a minor reward is granted should the rest of the community complete the mission.
Aside from cosmetic upgrades, completing the personal missions grants access to unique weapons and vehicles. Ubisoft keeps a running log of such challenges, which details when the events occur and what is to gain.
3/15 Arcade Mode
Far Cry 5's Arcade Mode provides the most variety in gameplay after finishing the campaign. There is a PvP mode and a special challenge mode, as well as weekly events that can only be accessed in Arcade mode.
Arcade mode also offers an opportunity for players to build their own maps for use in special challenges or PvP play. The level designer reaches beyond Far Cry 5, borrowing from some of Ubisoft's other series such as Assassins Creed. The only limit is imagination and perchance for carnage.
2/15 DLC
Once you've accomplished everything the base game can offer, perhaps it is time to move on to Far Cry 5's downloadable content. This takes players away from Hope Creek for adventures in Vietnam - and even Mars. In typical Far Cry fashion, these expansions bring an entirely new dimension to the game.
In Dead Living Zombies, the objective is to outlast hordes of zombies. Hours of Darkness takes a more grounded approach as a tale of survival in the jungles of Vietnam. Lost On Mars takes place on the red planet, where you're tasked with repelling an alien invasion force. It's as outlandish as it sounds.
1/15 Replay The Game!
After you're done with all the side activities and collectible hunting that they can do in Far Cry 5, there's really only one thing left to do — replay the game once again!
Playing Far Cry 5 in New Game + also unlocks a new difficulty called Infamous. It's a great way to add some much-needed challenge to the game... especially when you can carry over all the powerful gear that you've obtained in a previous playthrough.
